Page 26 - 2017 Year-End Summary

AHSEF has been a special experience for me. The fair has broadened my knowledge of
STEM, and encouraged me to complete rigorous science fair projects each year. This last year, I
was honored to win the Grand Prize at the fair, First Place in my category, and the Best Interview
Award. I went on to win First Place at the Southern Arizona Research, Science, and Engineering
Fair, a Third Place Grand Award at Intel ISEF, and be named a 2017 Future Innovator of the Year
by the Arizona Tech Council. Participation in science fairs has taught me the excitement of
scientific discovery, and enabled me to learn so much more than any "regular" science course
could have taught me. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in either biology or chemistry.
