Grand Canyon University President, Brian Mueller was so taken by the innovative
educational idea that is offered by Quest for Education and Arts, he invited us to
make a formal presentation to the university board of directors and faculty
representatives in hopes of establishing a partnership between Quest and GCU.
Freedom Day was established at Quest for Education and Arts. While our schedule
does not allow us to take the day off for Martin Luther King Day, we want to
celebrate how all people are welcome in the Kingdom of God. A life in Christ
represents true freedom. Student council set up opportunities for students to make
cards and gifts for our military to be sent as encouragement to them for their
service.
Airsoft wars took place out at Freedom Air Soft Park. Student council was very
successful at planning activities for a variety of interests and ages. This event was
open to everyone. About 30 students participated.
The annual AHSEF, Arizona Homeschool Science and Engineering Fair, was held on
Feb 21 and 22 at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum with the awards ceremony
st
nd
th
held at Mountain View Baptist Church on Feb 24 . We had 49 students participate
and two grand prize winners. Many of these students won prizes in regional, state,
and international fairs. Student council followed the fair with a great night of laser
tag.
