texture mirrored that of the duck. The 2014 André Jambon
Delorme Mercurey Rouge had black cherry at its heart persillé
and tarter red things at the extremities. It was silky
and spicy and very nicely balanced. Winemaker, Nadine

ice cream was as good as I’ve ever had. Sadly, after
coffee we bade farewell to this wonderful lady. I
wanted to take her back to Tanunda with us. We
headed down to the Domaine in Rully to have a squiz
at a few more wines.

From barrel, a 2015 André Delorme Rully Blanc had
finished malo and had a pleasant scent of apricot
and citrus. In the mouth, there was a dollop of cream
and it was full and fresh. A 2015 André Delorme
Montagny 1er Cru was full and fruity with peaches
and nectarines aplenty. There was a touch of spice and
a nice salty lick to the finish. A 2015 André Delorme
Santenay was spicy, bright and punchy. It had red
fruits and aniseed and crackled with energy.

Upstairs to the cellar for a look at a few things from
bottle. A 2014 André Delorme Bouzeron Aligoté was
very lemony. It tasted of lemon drop lolly and had
a crisp, green apple note. A 2013 André Delorme
Rully Blanc was flinty and chalky. Restrained and
elegant with a gentle thread of spice through the
flavour profile. The finish was chewy. A 2014 André
Delorme Rully 1er Cru 'Grésigny' was tight with
lip-smackin’ acidity. There were notes of mint, flint
and citrus. It was linear and long. The 2013 André
Delorme Montagny 1er Cru Blanc was all white peach
and white flowers. It was delicate with good shape
and finished with a salty lick. A 2013 André Delorme
Rully Rouge had cherries, tart berries and some earth.
Tannins are furry and only mid weight but nicely
balanced. The 2013 André Delorme Rully 1er Cru
was a step up. You get some rose petal smells from
the whole bunch. Smoky and floral with crisp red
berry fruit and excellent detail. A 2013 André Delorme
Givry 1er Cru 'La Matrosse' had engaging notes of
strawberries, plum and floral spice. A wine of gentle
tannins and bright acidity. A 2013 André Delorme
Mercurey 1er Cru 'Clos l'Evêque' had good intensity of
cherry and plum fruit. There’s a thread of pain d’épice
spice and it is a punchy wine with a chewy finish.
