                                                  essica Gomez, Founder and CEO of Medford-based Rogue Valley Microdevices, was one of
                                                J25 women selected from across Oregon as a Women of Influence winner. These women were
                                                recognized by the Portland Business Journal at their awards ceremony in April and named to the
                                                list of female leaders in business and the community. The panel of judges comprised past Women
                                                of Influence winners. The award honors women in Oregon who work to create change, make
                                                a beneficial impact, and endeavor to bring their community together with positive influences.

                                                “This is an incredible honor,” said Jessica Gomez. “I’m humbled to be selected as one of the
                                                Women of Influence, which includes leaders from such a wide array of businesses and organiza-
                                                tions throughout Oregon. It’s an impressive group who are all very accomplished in their work
                                                and in their communities.”

                                                equity and inclusion as she has helped our business community navigate these challenging times.
                                                Her determination, grit, and courage to speak her truth, while advocating for those who can-
                                                not advocate for themselves are exactly what I believe it means to be a Woman of Influence,”

                                                and her willingness to mentor and open doors for the next generation of women leaders in her

                                                         100 BEST GREEN WORKPLACES IN OREGON

                                                     S+B JAMES CONSTRUCTION IS AMONG THEM

                                                                            +B James Construction has been voted one of the 100 Best
                                                                         SGreen Workplaces in Oregon for 2021. This ranking, sur-
                                                                         veyed by Oregon Business, honors businesses implementing a
                                                                         variety of green policies. “We are honored to be acknowledged
                                                                         as one of the top green workplaces in Oregon,” said S+B James
                                                                         President, Allen  Purdy. “This award  recognizes our  fantastic,
                                                value-driven employees who care deeply about the longevity of the projects we build, the envi-
                                                ronment we work in and helping to make a positive difference in the communities we serve.”
                                                Every year, Oregon Business conducts an anonymous survey to rank businesses and nonprofit
                                                organizations on their green practices. Employees rate their satisfaction with, and the impor-
                                                tance they attach to eleven statements related to workplace sustainable practices, such as green
                                                mission and goals, recycling and waste reduction, support for public transit, energy and water
                                                conservation, and buying local. Employers are also independently scored on 15 questions about
                                                sustainability practices.

                                                S+B James works closely with its clients to identify green building design opportunities that
                                                will achieve their project goals and strives to be an industry leader in green design and construc-
                                                tion, often exceeding building and energy code standards. S+B James services include general
                                                contracting, an in-house design-build team, green building to reduce environmental impact, con-
                                                struction management, and more.
