rt is my favorite topic when it comes to considering interior
design. A piece of art can make or break a room. It can tell
a story, add life, add humor, or bring in a bold element to
Aminimal décor composition.
Selecting the right color palette for your room can be one of the hard-
est choices you make in interior design. One great way to guide your
style is to analyze the colors of the art pieces that will adorn a room.
Art should never be an afterthought, but be at the forefront of the
design if you want to imbue style and substance.
Every room needs something to attract attention to a visitor in a mat-
ter of seconds, and art is the way to create a focal point. And whatever
you choose, know that how you select the framing, placement, and
scale of art will be an instant mood-setter, allowing your guests the
potential to be amazed by your taste. It is such a wonderful way to
show your personality and interests. For art to be considered tasteful,
it does not have to be expensive, or even an original painting. I find that
photography is a great way to add character, personality, and style. But

dining room—a fun piece of art is far better.
Wall art is also the finishing element that can pull a space together and
make it feel complete. As you peruse these photos, ask yourself how
much you would like the room if the art was not there? Would it feel a
bit naked and incomplete? The key is to choose art that fits with your
decorating style.
In my home, we have art in every room. Many pieces are from our trav-
els. It is important to consider all the wonderful textures that comprise
an artful interior wall. It can be a collection of masks from Africa, a
beautiful blanket from Peru, or lovely pieces of driftwood collected at
the beach. Really think about what you want to say in a space when you
choose paintings or objects for your art wall, really think about what
you want to say in the space, and don’t be shy about it.
Gallery walls are another great way to make a statement, but a good
