rule of thumb is to have only one gallery wall in your space. Multiple
walls with small pictures everywhere can become cluttered and feel
a bit overwhelming. Hiring a designer to hang a gallery wall is a great
idea. A designer will consult on framing and bring in a professional
to hang if needed. Recently I reviewed a client’s art collection and
asked if the pieces were important to them, did they have history? They
replied “No! We’ve had that painting 40 years, and we don’t even like
it!” That was my opportunity to redefine their space with personality
and brightness in curating new art for their home.

As we are staying home so much these days, I hope you find these sug-
gestions inspire, that you will walk through your home, study your art,
perhaps take a little gallery tour with a glass of wine in hand. Reflect
if it’s art that has meaning and needs to stay, or is it something you
purchased just to fill the space? Have fun with your tour and appraisal.

And, here’s to new, fresh, and healthy beginnings in 2021 as we move
through this crazy time!
