                                                                     soaring ceilings, natural  surfaces, dual
                                                                     fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling windows,
                                                                     and expansive doorways, with an open,
                                                                     airy feeling that makes the outdoors
                                                                     always feel just a step away. Numerous
                                                                     details, like slow-close barn doors, and
                                                                     custom cupboards and window blinds
                                                                     also fill the home’s practical needs
                                                                     throughout.

                                                                     An expansive paver terrace runs the
                                                                     length of the house between the hot tub
                                                                     outside the master suite and the infinity
                                                                     edge pool that sits level with the spaces
                                                                     around the house. Strategic plantings
                                                                     and low-maintenance, high impact
                                                                     landscaping provide privacy, while leav-
                                                                     ing an open feel to the natural setting
                                                                     closer around the house and its yard.

                                                                     There’s always a multitude of design
                                                                     choices within each home, reminds
                                                                     Adderson, that his years of experience
                                                                     can help him navigate with each home-
                                                                     owner. In this home, for example, the
                                                                     original vision was for a spiral staircase
                                                                     between the two levels, and while they
                                                                     are picture-worthy, he admits, they
                                                                     aren’t always comfortable for routine
                                                                     use. In the end, he was able to work with
                                                                     the homeowner and designer through
                                                                     a series of options to find an alternate
                                                                     design that would better serve the build
                                                                     budget and blend with the overall func-
                                                                     tion and flow of the home.

                                                                     It’s the on-the-ground decisions that
                                                                     help  Adderson  Construction deliver
                                                                     exactly what its clients dream of. “When
                                                                     possible, we like to work with our cus-
                                                                     tomers from the onset of the project.
                                                                     I value the conversations with clients
                                                                     to understand their  wants and desires
                                                                     to customize their projects.” One of
                                                                     the challenges of building in the Rogue
                                                                     Valley is that each lot is unique. “Often
                                                                     the last house you built [or designed]
                                                                     won’t fit on the next property. Being
                                                                     involved in all of the planning stages
                                                                     helps the process be more efficient both
                                                                     in meeting the needs of the client and
                                                                     economically.”

                                                                     the process Adderson always tries to be
