15 years,” he recalls, “but I had always wanted to follow the
footsteps of my grandfather who had a construction company
in Alberta, Canada.” Eighteen years ago, he decided it was
time for the dream to become true, and took the leap to start
Adderson Construction, Inc.
Since then, his focus has been on helping his clients see their
dreams become a reality too, and one of his recent builds, a
5,800-square foot home in Ashland, sits as a crown jewel on
the heights of Ashland’s Terrace Street.
Adderson first purchased the property with an eye to devel-
oping several homes in the area and remodeling the 1950s
two-story already on site. He had developed a plan for the
remodel but, he recalls with a laugh, as he and the architect he
was working with realized, “By the time we spent the money,
it was still going to be an old house with low ceilings.” That
realization came at about the same time that his current client
moved to the area and quickly saw the potential of the prop-
erty to become something truly unique. So he and his team
started working from the ground up.
After working through a few different designs for the loca-
tion, the end result combines the homeowner’s vision of a
“living outside” modern feel, taking advantage of the stunning
views and still meeting the family’s desire for privacy and
