“Animals poking around the
flowers add a playful touch.”
-Lynn Leissler
you might consider framing one and hanging it inside. Or, join the young
ones and decorate birdhouses to set here and there. A bird might sur-
prise you and take up residence. Perhaps like us, when our avian friends
seek a home, it’s curb appeal that first grabs their attention.
Animals poking around the flowers add a playful touch—creatures in
ceramic or metal, twig creations, or anything else you happen upon at
the store or think of to make. Mosaic projects work well with old jew-
elry, rocks, glass pieces, broken plates.
Another use for random (unbroken) plates, saucers, cups and small vases
is to build a flower. Start with the largest plate and go from there, using
a strong glue (such as e6000 or silicon). Pinterest has good instructions.
Warning: If you go to Pinterest for ideas, plan to be there a while. Ideas
abound by the hundreds, and as is true with creativity, one idea begets
another until you wish for more garden space. Some of these ideas will
make great winter projects. Give your imagination free rein and have fun
as you create a unique garden.
