             through the air.

After the last vehicle passes, choose from
a long list of things to see and do. There
are shows for quilts, horses, art, flowers,
and pets. Enter competitions like the Salt Water
Open, Bocce Ball on the Beach, Pickleball, or
you can toss some horseshoes or try the Keg Ring
Toss, participate in a Jerry Can Run, or fight the
wind and waves in a dinghy.

Children can win prizes for their Sidewalk
Chalk Art, listen to Star-Spangled stories at the
Library, play kickball, or participate in the annual
Driftwood Fun Run. You can move around town
or settle in at the Battle Rock Wayside, a hub of
all-day activity for fun family time with many
games to keep the kids engaged, plus music, and
a wide variety of food trucks.

And when the sun goes down, end the Fourth
with a traditional, spectacular fireworks display
at Battle Rock, called the best fireworks display
        on the Southern Oregon Coast.

Plan to spend the weekend, not just the day,
in seaside Port Orford and enjoy its beautiful
        beaches and forests.

        Visit www.portorfordjubilee.com/the-july-
Fourth -jubilee/ for a full list of events.

        For accommodation suggestions, visit www.
        enjoyportorford.com/lodging. There are bed
and breakfasts, motels, a resort, and RV parks/
campgrounds to choose from, depending on
your preference and budget. Or, find a charming
        vacation rental on Airbnb.

Can’t make it that weekend? There are other
events at other times. For collectors, there’s
the Port Orford Town-Wide Yard Sale. Added in
2019 as part of the Jubilee, it became so popu-
lar and well-attended that it has become its own
event on the calendar. This year, it will be held on
        Saturday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pick up
a map of the approximately 30 sites, and go hunt
        for treasure.

While you have your calendar out, mark it for
August 8. You don’t want to miss the 3rd Annual
Port Orford Street Fair, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
where food, crafts, live music, and entertain-
        ment abound.
