P. 37
TO THAT WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO ME
‘Dear lord! Seize us to close
That door through which no man returns’.
As a lion curb I would burb, ‘you knew’.
Still new, ‘As a baby I cried’.
Growing up, to love, to be humble,
To respect, reason, loyalty, integrity,
Principle, passion, patience, and
To find pure proper dignity,
‘For all these you knew I was capable,
Through you in me these were instilled’.
Later as a lion I roared,
And alike to bull I manned-up,
‘Alike to an ostrich, you prayed,
Through all odds I stand tall’.
Your faith in me amped me up,
But as beautiful flowers die young,
We pass-on too soon,
Hope to see you in short.
‘TO THAT WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO ME’,
Thank you,
I bow to make you proud.
