When you talk sometimes you like to read the note but what if you can just look at your
slides without reading it. Sometimes we use index cards just like flashcards. Akeelah and the bee
used flashcards for her vocabulary learning
But this one is also noteworthy and it is good. You don’t need to copy every word just a
few and then you just look so it will be a little bit more natural rather than just a script and then
readout of the script.
Laser pointer
You don’t have a laser pointer this time but in oral presentations at the conference,
sometimes you use a laser pointer and you point at people’s heads so that is dangerous in their
eyes. Don’t do that! And sometimes your hand is shaking, your pointer will also shake, and that
will discredit your own presentation.
Right now during your MTM, we don’t use laser pointers but what you can use is the pen.
You can use each pen differently. Some people use laser pointers but I don’t like laser pointers, I
like the pen because I can write on the slides as well so it’s up to you. But be careful that you may
do something at people, the point at people’s head and wave the laser pointer which is not a
good idea
Now you have to present it in English are you planning to do it in Thai then nobody will
listen to you and you will get zero points because it’s professional English, not Thai. If you don’t
know how to present it well on your scripts, your contents. Read with the tongue twisters
technique
Test, test
When you emphasize with a different word, it means something
Please “present” your paper next week >>> Present rather than write. Don’t write it!
Please present “your” paper next week >>> “Your” not my but your
Whenever you see any stress, anything you would like to emphasize you will make
intonation, raise it, or make it emphasize. So we learn about this technique already when you say
it in English doesn’t just.
“I would like to present my paper for my MTM project today” monotone is very boring. So
tell them in tone “I would like to present my project to you” (speak lively). So it’s not monotonous.
