Created by Adam Price, Ride Upon the Storm is a character-driven drama series about modern Western
civilisation’s relationship with faith. The story centers around the Krogh family – a legacy of priests going back
250 years. The charismatic Lutheran priest, Johannes, is the patriarch of the family and is married to Elisabeth,
a kindhearted school teacher. Together they have two sons: August, a dedicated and successful young priest
in Copenhagen who is deployed as an army chaplain in a war zone in the Middle East, and his older brother
Christian who, much to his father’s dismay, has chosen a “Wall Street way of living” over the church.
Johannes favoritism for August, and his disappointment with Christian, forces both brothers into making
desperate choices in order to either gain his love or break free from it. Their path will lead us into challenges and
encounters between different religions, seen through the intimate lens of a family drama.
These are turbulent times, where everyone is experiencing dramatic shifts due to being challenged on their
own personal beliefs and values. Is it God’s will, karma, fate or just coincidence? It’s a question of faith.
