I started running over the facts in my head and then I realized why they sent me to this special room. When it was my turn to perform a spell, the council re-reinforced the room and told me to cast my most powerful spell. With all the protection around me, I felt like I was a natural disaster. Just to be safe, I put some pretty powerful barriers all around so as not to destroy the entire school.
After looking at the results, the council announced our placements that afternoon, and as I presumed, I was first and the school’s new “ACE”. Over the next six months, I made a lot of friends and enemies. Kanna, my best friend, is super sweet and nice... or so I thought.
One day she asked me to come over to her house to practice for the test we were going to have in three days. Kanna was ranked second in the academy and possessed very powerful fire magic. To be honest, her power did not match her appearance at all. She looked more like a piece of pink bubble gum everything pink, pink hair, pink clothes, pink eyes, pink, etc. And she had a super bubbly personality.
Kanna showed me to a room in her house with all the materials we needed to perform the spell. I showed her how to cast it and told her to practice while I went to the bathroom. When I came back, I realized that she had changed the magic circle. She was casting one of her family’s three sacred forbidden spells. The spell of ashes. As soon as she activated the magic circle, she pushed me into it and cast the spell on me.
When I came to, I was lying on a prison cell floor. Kanna was standing outside looking at me. “You woke up faster than I expected! Ugh you really must be powerful.”
“Why?” I exclaimed, “Why would you curse me?”
She responded with rage, “Why? Why did I do all of this? Isn’t it obvious? It’s because you took
my first-place spot and almost ruined all my plans!”
“What plans?” I asked with curiosity.
“Well, my plans to corrupt the government and take over the world obviously!” she exclaimed. “That’s why you decided to curse me, really? It’s not like your plans will succeed!”
“Well, if I was a normal person like you, I would fail, but my family has a lot of influence in the
government, so I can pull this off easily!” she said with pride.
“But, Kanna, you were my best friend!!!” I said holding back tears
“You were never my friend. I just needed a way to get close to you, and you are so gullible. It
was so easy to make you think I was your friend!” she said as she laughed. “And now anything you touch will turn to ASHES!”
She continued, “Oh that's a nice nickname for you, you should be called Ashes. Anyways I have to go tend to some business. See you never!” Kanna walked away.
“You will pay for this. I promise you that! I won’t let you get away with this,” I shouted at her back.
Kanna stopped, and without turning back, she yelled, “I already have!”
For the next three days, I planned my escape and revenge plot. I still had all my magic which was stupid of Kanna not to restrict. I made special gloves so that I could touch things. I remember reading about her family’s spells in a book, and I knew their weaknesses. This allowed me to make the magic gloves that restricted the curse. Before I put on the second glove, I turned all the bars to ashes. Then I summoned my spirit animal, Neptune. He’s a beautiful black and white wolf and the leader of the spirit animals. He represents yin (dark) and yang (light). He is also very large. I got on his back and busted out of the prison. Now, all I needed to do was find Kanna.
I remembered what had gotten me into this mess and immediately knew where Kanna was. She was taking the test we were preparing for. I asked Neptune to fly me over to school. There were two ways I could get to her. The first method was turning invisible, going in like a ninja, silently and swiftly ending her life. The other method was to just bust in. I went over the scenarios in my head, and since the first option was the easiest and fastest, I went for the second one. I told Neptune to sneak past all the security guards until we got to the testing room. Then, I asked Neptune to bust down the wall and BANG! Everyone turned to look at me.
“What are you doing here?” Kanna exclaimed.
“So, I finally found you!” I said, “I mean, do you know how hard it is getting past the school’s security on a giant wolf?”
“What?” Kanna was confused.
