student council president called me up to give a speech. I must say that did take me by surprise, but I got my nerves under control and went up to give my impromptu.
My first problem was the microphone. It was so high that one of the student council members had to lower it for me. My next problem was the speech, the unprepared one, I was supposed to give. No one informed me that I was going to have to present a speech which made me a bit mad. Then, it occurred to me this might be a test. Was I being tested to see how well I do under pressure and what I could do on the spot? I was probably overthinking things, but I did give the speech on a whim.
When the assembly was over, the auditorium was total chaos. We were all dismissed, and we were headed to meet our teachers. Clearly, nobody thought this through. I was shoved through hundreds of kids trying to exit through two doors. It was complete pandemonium. People kept tugging and pushing me. Then, someone grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the crowd. My instincts kicked in, and I immediately dropped into my defense stance and was about to hit the person who pulled me out. Luckily, I stopped when I saw it was the student council president. He said the entire council wanted to meet the girl who was able to get the first-ever scholarship to this school.
The student council president was a second-year named Magnus. He introduced me to the rest of the council. They were all really nice, kind, and tall (unlike me). Since all of the student council members were second-year, I thought I wouldn’t have any classes with them. Well, boy, was I wrong because it turns out that I had at least one class with all of them. I thought it was strange that they placed me in second-year classes, but what was even stranger was that there were no third-year student council members.
My homeroom teacher is Mrs. Schwartzman. She is a practical magics teacher and the best of her kind. What makes her different are her teaching methods. Not only is her class fun, but we learn a lot. Mrs. Schwartzman is a very rare kind of demi-human. She is a Raven demi-human.
By the way, a demi-human is a person who is half-animal half-human. Demi-humans are not too rare, but some kinds are. For example, the student council president is a rare nine-tailed fox. I myself am a demi-human lucky to be born an extremely rare cosmic wolf. There are also regular humans and magical humans. Also, some demi-humans can hide their animal form. I like keeping my form hidden because I don’t like people touching my ears and tail.
My second class is with Mr. A, and he is my magic combat teacher. He is funny but strict, and I like those characteristics in a teacher. My third class is with Mr. Honey, and he is my martial arts teacher. He looks small and adorable, but he is super strong and much younger than the other teachers. Then I have my fourth class with Mrs. Harper. She is super rude, unfair, strict, and hates everyone. She is my “Girls Dedicate Class” teacher. I can’t believe I was forced to take that class. My fifth class is with Mr. Cole. He is not very special. He’s just a regular teacher. Then, I have second lunch which is pretty nice, but some of my friends have first lunch and others have third lunch, so we are a little separated. My seventh class is with Ms. Hisui, and she is super sweet and bubbly. I love her. My eighth class is science with Mr. Morroe, and um... he is an interesting fellow. Finally, my ninth class is with Mrs. Rex. She keeps to herself, so I don’t know much about her.
The next day when I arrived at H.R., Magnus grabbed my arm again, and I reacted the same way as before, but this time my hit landed, and I sent him flying across the room. Luckily Magnus is strong and a quick thinker, so he managed to avoid major injuries. He had pulled me aside to inform me that I had to head to a different room for the placement test. There were other kids that went to a separate room with me. I had no idea what the purpose of sending me to a different room was until I saw the room. The room was reinforced with super thick metal walls and had a first aid station. I thought it was a little overkill.
Turns out, people sent to that room could possibly destroy the whole school. While I understood why some kids who could barely control their powers or had explosive magic as their domain were sent there, I didn’t understand why I was. My magic domain, the magic I’m genetically best at, is omnipotence. Usually, magic domains are determined by your parents, but it is possible for you to have a different magic domain than your parents. Some people have both of their parent’s domains which is called double domains. This is very rare and powerful. Even if your magic domain is fire you can still perform water spells and other spells, but fire is your most powerful magic.
