1 Samuel 15:13 230 1 Samuel 16:7

and beholde, he hath made him there a place, rent. 28 Then Samuel saide vnto him, The Lord
from whence he returned, and departed, and is hath rent the kingdome of Israel from thee this
gone downe to Gilgal. 13 Then Samuel came to day, and hath giuen it to thy neighbour, that is
Saul, and Saul said vnto him. Blessed be thou better then thou. 29 For in deede the strength
of the Lord, I haue fulfilled the commandement of Israel will not lye nor repent: for hee is not a
of the Lord. 14 But Samuel saide, What meaneth man that hee should repent. 30 Then he saide, I
then the bleating of the sheepe in mine eares, haue sinned: but honour mee, I pray thee, before
and the lowing of the oxen which I heare? 15 And the Elders of my people, and before Israel, and
Saul answered, They haue brought them from turne againe with mee, that I may worship the
the Amalekites: for the people spared the best Lord thy God. 31 So Samuel turned againe, and
of the sheepe, and of the oxen to sacrifice them followed Saul: and Saul worshipped the Lord.
vnto the Lord thy God, and the remnant haue 32 Then saide Samuel, Bring yee hither to me Agag

Let me tell thee what the Lord hath saide to him pleasantly, and Agag saide, Truely the bitter-
me this night. And he said vnto him, Say on. 33
17 Then Samuel saide, When thou wast litle in nesse of death is passed. And Samuel sayde, As
thine owne sight, wast thou not made the head thy sworde hath made women childlesse, so shall
of the tribes of Israel? for the Lord anointed thy mother bee childelesse among other women.
thee King ouer Israel. 18 And the Lord sent thee And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the Lord
on a iourney, and saide, Goe, and destroy those in Gilgal. 34 So Samuel departed to Ramah, and
sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them, Saul went vp to his house to Gibeah of Saul. 35 And
vntill thou destroy them. 19 Nowe wherefore hast Samuel came no more to see Saul vntill the day
thou not obeyed the voyce of the Lord, but hast of his death: but Samuel mourned for Saul, and
turned to the pray, and hast done wickedly in the the Lord repented that hee made Saul King ouer
sight of the Lord? 20 And Saul saide vnto Samuel, Israel.
Yea, I haue obeyed the voyce of the Lord, and
haue gone the way which the Lord sent me, and 16
haue brought Agag the King of Amalek, and haue 1 The Lord then saide vnto Samuel, Howe long
destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people tooke wilt thou mourne for Saul, seeing I haue cast
of the spoyle, sheepe, and oxen, and the chiefest him away from reigning ouer Israel? fill thine
of the things which shoulde haue bene destroyed, horne with oyle and come, I will sende thee
to offer vnto the Lord thy God in Gilgal. 22 And to Ishai the Bethlehemite: for I haue prouided
Samuel saide, Hath the Lord as great pleasure in mee a King among his sonnes. 2 And Samuel
burnt offerings and sacrifices, as when the voyce sayde, Howe can I goe? for if Saul shall heare
of the Lord is obeyed? beholde, to obey is better it, he will kill me. Then the Lord answered,
then sacrifice, and to hearken is better then the Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come
fatte of rammes. 23 For rebellion is as the sinne to doe sacrifice to the Lord. 3 And call Ishai to
of withcraft, and transgression is wickednesse the sacrifice, and I will shewe thee what thou
and idolatrie. Because thou hast cast away the shalt doe, and thou shalt anoynt vnto me him
worde of the Lord, therefore hee hath cast away whom I name vnto thee. 4 So Samuel did that
thee from being King. 24 Then Saul sayde vnto the Lord bade him, and came to Beth-lehem,
and the Elders of the towne were astonied at his
Samuel, I haue sinned: for I haue transgressed comming, and sayd, Commest thou peaceablie?
the commandement of the Lord, and thy wordes, 5 And he answeared, Yea: I am come to doe
because I feared the people, and obeyed their sacrifice vnto the Lord: sanctifie your selues, and
voyce. 25 Nowe therefore I pray thee, take away come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified
my sinne, and turne againe with mee, that I may Ishai and his sonnes, and called them to the

I will not returne with thee: for thou hast cast on Eliab, and saide, Surely the Lordes Anointed
away the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath is before him. 7 But the Lord said vnto Samuel,
cast away thee, that thou shalt not be King ouer Looke not on his countenance, nor on the height
Israel. 27 And as Samuel turned himselfe to goe of his stature, because I haue refused him: for
away, he caught the lappe of his coate, and it God seeth not as man seeth: for man looketh on
the outward appearance, but the Lord beholdeth
