vpon them. 13 Beholde, he shall come vp as the ornaments of golde, though thou paintest thy
cloudes, and his charets shalbe as a tempest: his face with colours, yet shalt thou trimme thy selfe
horses are lighter then eagles. Woe vnto vs, for in vaine: for thy louers will abhorre thee and
wee are destroyed. 14 O Ierusalem, wash thine seeke thy life. 31 For I haue heard a noyse as of
heart from wickednes, that thou maiest be saued: a woman trauailing, or as one labouring of her
how long shall thy wicked thoughtes remaine first child, euen the voyce of the daughter Zion
within thee? 15 For a voyce declareth from Dan, that sigheth and stretcheth out her handes: woe
and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim. is me nowe: for my soule fainteth because of the

in Ierusalem, Beholde, the skoutes come from
a farre countrey, and crie out against the cities 5
of Iudah. 17 They haue compassed her about 1 Run to and from by the streetes of Ierusalem,
as the watchmen of the fielde, because it hath and beholde nowe, and knowe, and inquire in the

wayes and thine inuentions haue procured thee if there be any that executeth iudgement, and
these things, such is thy wickednesse: therefore seeketh the trueth, and I will spare it. 2 For
it shall be bitter, therefore it shall perce vnto though they say, The Lord liueth, yet doe they
thine heart. 19 My bely, my bely, I am pained, sweare falsely. O Lord, are not thine eyes vpon
                                                                                3
euen at the very heart: mine heart is troubled the trueth? thou hast striken them, but they

heard the sounde of the trumpet, and the alarme but they haue refused to receiue correction: they
of the battell. 20 Destruction vpon destruction is haue made their faces harder then a stone, and
cryed, for the whole lande is wasted: suddenly haue refused to returne. 4 Therefore I saide,
are my tents destroyed, and my curtaines in a Surely they are poore, they are foolish, for they

                                                                               5
and heare the sounde of the trumpet? 22 For of their God. I will get me vnto the great men,
my people is foolish, they haue not knowen and will speake vnto them: for they haue knowen
me: they are foolish children, and haue none the way of the Lord, and the iudgement of their
vnderstanding: they are wise to doe euill, but God: but these haue altogether broken the yoke,
to doe well they haue no knowledge. 23 I haue and burst the bondes. 6 Wherefore a lyon out
looked vpon the earth, and loe, it was without of the forest shall slay them, and a wolfe of the

had no light. 24 I behelde the mountaines: and watch ouer their cities: euery one that goeth
loe, they trembled and all the hilles shooke. 25 I out thence, shall be torne in pieces, because
behelde, and loe, there was no man, and all the their trespasses are many, and their rebellions
birdes of the heauen were departed. 26 I behelde, are increased. 7 Howe should I spare thee for
and loe, the fruitfull place was a wildernesse, this? thy children haue forsaken me, and sworne
and all the cities thereof were broken downe by them that are no gods: though I fed them to
at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce the full, yet they committed adulterie, and as-
wrath. 27 For thus hath the Lord saide, The whole sembled them selues by companies in the harlots

the heauens aboue shall be darkened, because wife. 9 Shall I not visite for these things, saith
I haue pronounced it: I haue thought it, and
will not repent, neither will I turne backe from the Lord? Shall not my soule be auenged on
                                                                                          10

the horsemen and bowemen: they shall goe into walles, and destroy them, but make not a full
thickets, and clime vp vpon the rockes: euery ende: take away their batilments, for they are
