            Iudah, that sent you vnto me to inquire of me,
            Behold, Pharaohs hoste, which is come forth to                          38
            helpe you, shall returne to Egypt into their owne   1  Then Shephatiah the sonne of Mattan, and
            land. And the Caldeans shall come againe, and    Gedaliah the sonne of Pashur, and Iucal the sonne

            fight against this citie, and take it and burne it of Shelemiah, and Pashur the sonne of Malchiah,
            with fire. Thus sayth the Lord, Deceiue not your heard the wordes that Ieremiah had spoken vnto

            selues, saying, The Caldeans shall surely depart all the people, saying,  2  Thus sayth the Lord,
            from vs: for they shall not depart.  10 For though He that remaineth in this citie, shall dye by the
            ye had smitten the whole hoste of the Caldeans sworde, by the famine and by the pestilence:
            that fight against you, and there remained but but hee that goeth foorth to the Caldeans, shall
            wounded men among them, yet should euery liue: for he shall haue his life for a praye, and
            man rise vp in his tent, and burne this citie with shall liue.  3 Thus sayth the Lord, This citie shall
            fire.  11  When the hoste of the Caldeans was surely be giuen into the hand of the King of

            armie,  12  Then Ieremiah went out of Ierusalem Princes sayd vnto the King, We beseech you, let
            to goe into the land of Beniamin, separating this man be put to death: for thus hee weakeneth
            himselfe thence from among the people.   13  And the hands of the men of warre that remaine in
            when hee was in the gate of Beniamin, there was this citie, and the hands of all the people, in
            a chiefe officer, whose name was Iriiah, the sonne speaking such wordes vnto them: for this man
            of Shelemiah, the sonne of Hananiah, and he seeketh not the wealth of this people, but the
            tooke Ieremiah the Prophet, saying, Thou fleest  hurt.  5  Then Zedekiah the King sayd, Behold,
            to the Caldeans.  14  Then sayde Ieremiah, That is  he is in your hands, for ye King can denie you
            false, I flee not to the Caldeans: but he would not  nothing.  6  Then tooke they Ieremiah, and cast
            heare him: so Iriiah tooke Ieremiah, and brought  him into the dungeon of Malchiah the sonne of
            him to the princes.   15  Wherefore the princes  Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison:
            were angry with Ieremiah, and smote him, and     and they let downe Ieremiah with coards: and in
            layde him in prison in the house of Iehonathan   the dungeon there was no water but myre: so
            the scribe: for they had made that the prison.   Ieremiah stacke fast in the myre.   7  Now when

            of Babel.  18  Moreouer, Ieremiah sayd vnto King  haue done euill in all that they haue done to
            Zedekiah, What haue I offended against thee,     Ieremiah the Prophet, whom they haue cast into
            or against thy seruants, or against this people,  the dungeon, and he dyeth for hunger in the
            that ye haue put me in prison?    19  Where are  place where he is: for there is no more bread

            nowe your prophets, which prophecied vnto you,   in the citie.  Then the King commanded Ebed-
            saying, The King of Babel shall not come against  melech the blacke More, saying, Take from hence
                                                             thirtie men with thee, and take Ieremiah the
            you, nor against this land?  20  Therefore heare  Prophet out of the dungeon before he dye.  11 So
            nowe, I pray thee, O my lorde the King: let my   Ebed-melech tooke the men with him and went
            prayer be accepted before thee, that thou cause  to the house of the King vnder the treasurie, and
            mee not to returne to the house of Iehonathan    tooke there olde rotten ragges, and olde worne
            the scribe, least I die there.  21 Then Zedekiah the  cloutes, and let them downe by coards into the
            King commanded, that they should put Ieremiah    dungeon to Ieremiah.    12  And Ebed-melech the
