Lucien Edward Fortier Family Tree Children of Achille Fortier & Marie Boulet Continued Below Twelve children, 3 boys and 9 girls. As of 2018, Ed Fortier’s only surviving sibling was Robert Arthur Fortier as per his son Donat Fortier, age 72 when we spoke on the phone in 2018. He lives in Montreal and his father was living in an assisted living home somewhere in Montreal, age 95. Going back a generation, Achille Fortier was the son of Georges Fortier 1840-1922 and Virginie Audet dit Lapointe 1840-1921. Georges and Virginie’s children: 1. Emide b. 1867 2. Edmund or Edmond 1868-1955 3. Achille or Archille 1869-1948 4. Almenda or Amanda b. 1873 5. Clovis 1874-1946 6. Mérida or Merilda b. 1876 7. Exilda “Laura” b. 1880 8. Marie Anne or Anna b. 1883. We found out from the Lac Megantic Fortiers (Ron Chamberland, son of Aurianne Fortier) that when Achille died his brother Edmond “married” his widow, Marie Boulet. I have not been able to find any record of this marriage so I suspect it was a more informal “partnership”.
