JULY/AUGUST 2015
17 Annual Annual Annual
17
17 th th th
5K & 5-Mile
Pirates and pumpkins, bumblebees and
butterflies, devils and dinosaurs — these
are just a few of the clever costumes worn by runners
and walkers who participated in the 17th Annual
Halloween Run for Justice. Held for the second
year at Jacob’s Pavilion at nautica, this year’s 1-Mile,
5-Mile and 5K courses covered new ground thanks
to the United States Coast Guard having granted
special permission to lower all bridges, allowing
racers to crisscross the Cuyahoga River. There was
entertainment galore with dJ Yulissa playing great
tunes and Flower Clown twisting balloons into fun
designs. The Cavs organization once again provided
plenty of fun, sending their Biz Box filled with video
games and an inflatable pop-a-shot. Additionally, the
Cavs Girls and Scream Team performed dances and
cheers for everyone to enjoy. Crafts for kids, candy
at the finish line, plenty of prizes and lots of food
and drink kept the crowd of almost 400 participants
happy all morning long!
Through the generosity of our event sponsors
and participants, we raised over $40,000! All event
proceeds are used by the CMBF to fund our many
“Lawyers Giving Back” pro bono and public service
programs, including The 3Rs, that are making a
positive difference in our community.
