What happens actually during a grid faulteg.

Short circuit

Continuous Genset operation within specified operating range

✓ Low voltage/ High current / bad phase angle → No active power!

✓ Loading of the gas engine goes down immediately

✓ Speed of the engine increases

✓ Asynchrony behavior between alternator and grid could occur

✓ Disconnection from the unit from the grid by the grid protection system

with vector shift or df/dt relays

✓ After return of the mains and stable mains conditions for xx(5) minutes,

the engine will resume operation and synchronize to the grid
