TWO VERY PALE GREEN JADE ‘DEER’ 358

Probably 18th/19th century
The first, slightly larger, carved from a very
pale stone, the recumbent beast holding
lingzhi and peaches in its mouth, a small bat
perched atop, wood stand; and a smaller
group, carved from an even white stone,
the deer holding a leafy branch of fruiting,
oversized peaches.
The larger carving: 4.5cm (1 3/4in) long (3).

A SMALL GROUP OF SNUFF BOTTLES
Late Qing Dynasty and later
Comprising: a green jade baluster bottle with
twin animal mask handles, with flat lip, well
hollowed and standing on a small concave
oval foot, coral stopper; a brown jade square
section bottle carved with horses in shallow
relief; and a quartz bottle carved as a double-
gourd.
The largest: 6cm (2 3/8in) high (6).

stand; a recumbent water buffalo holding a
