Each standing four-square upon a coiled serpent base, the body
carved with bifurcated curls, the alert face with partially open mouth,
the coiled locks of the mane well defined, wood stands.

The central figure of Guanyin flanked by two deities, holding various
attributes, before billowing clouds, and standing upon rockwork,
pierced and carved wood stand.

AN AGATE DOUBLE-VASE AND COVERS
20th century
Carved in openwork relief to the exteriors with a Buddhist lion and
cub clambering amongst flowering peony stems, the reverse with a
phoenix perched upon rockwork, the covers with two smaller crested
birds amongst the flowering branches, carved wood stand.
The agate 23cm (9in) high. (4).
