rim, supported on a short tapering foot, the
panels variously painted with floral sprays,
auspicious objects and diaper patterns, the
interior painted on one bowl with a central
medallion enclosing a tiger below pine, the
other with a bird below tree peony.

Late Ming Dynasty
The sturdily-potted charger painted with a
central medallion enclosing a pair of writhing
dragons in pursuit of a flaming pearl, framed
by five mythical beasts, the well painted
with roundels alternately enclosing Arabic
inscriptions and dancing figures, interspersed
by ribboned pendants.
