A RARE BLUE AND WHITE BALUSTER VASE
Chongzhen
The baluster body rising to a tall cylindrical neck, decorated with
a scene of a lady greeting a gentleman, before a retinue of female
attendants, in a riverside pavilion garden of pine and rockwork, the
everted rim with a faux-bois design, the lower body with petal lobed
panels of lotus sprays and foliage, alternating with geometric motifs,
the foot with foliate lappets.

scholars seated in a landscape, beneath stylised tulips to the neck. underglaze blue, all raised on a high foot rim.
