varieties of mythical beast prancing amongst
flames and above trees and rockwork, all
between a ruyi head border at the shoulder
and an unusual lappet band at the foot, the
short neck with classic scrollwork.

Late 16th century
The exterior painted in bold underglaze blue
with four different species of fish swimming
amidst aquatic plants, the interior painted with
a central medallion enclosing two geese on
rockwork amidst lotus and peony sprays with
two further geese swimming in the distance.
