sprinkler that is said to have been
made for the Indian market and
still retains its original carriage
case. The use of a peacock atop
the sprinkler rose suggests it
may have been intended for the
Persian market.

Although the case also contains a
written dedication dated 1918 and
Bombay, it is more likely the
sprinkler was actually made
earlier - circa 1900.
It is decorated with Daoist
symbols and the flowers of the
four seasons. The peacock
sprinkler finial has parcel gilded
highlights as do selected motifs
throughout.
