P. 309
This entire circa 1890 suite
of tea and coffee silver
carries the Heng Chang
mark on each piece. The
classical Georgian-style
tray is heavily decorated
with applied high relief
swirling dragons around
its reticulated raised
gallery. The tray’s central
panel is decorated with
engraved blooming
chrysanthemum stems
while each individual items
is decorated with the same
motif in repoussé work.
The tray is supported by
fluted bun feet.
This is one of the finest
complete silver suites of
this style and period from
a Canton silversmith.
