Page 439 - Chinese SIlver By Adrien Von Ferscht
P. 439
This was one of a handful of late 19th century Chinese
silversmiths to create rosewater sprinklers, an traditional
ceremonial object for Muslims, Sephardi and Mizrachi Jews.
This particular example has a subtle blend of Chinese, Islamic
and Western decorative motifs - the decorative floral panels are
not quite arabesques but allude to them.
