The previously illustrated scholar’s box, although smothered in beautifully executed repoussé work in the
traditional Chinese decorative style, has noticeably set itself apart from what we would expect to find in Chinese
Export Silver, in particular the open fan frieze border [detailed below].
These two pairs of condiment shakers in the guise of four immortals are equally unique and demonstrate the
level of detailing and workmanship that is a signature feature of items bearing the Li Sheng mark.
