LIN CHONG [aka: LINCHONG]
            New China Street, Canton
            circa 1800-1850

One of the finest early Chinese Export Silver makers
producing highest quality silver in the classic high
“Georgian” style of the George III period. Lin Chong is
also the quintessential Chinese Georgian, if there ever
were to be such a thing! Lin Chong was also a master of
transferring the traditional Chinese style onto Western-
form objects. Sadly, Lin Chong silver is all too rare today.

The textural working of the silver ground of the river in
this tankard is quite exceptional as is the depth of
perspective achieved from the sculpting of the scene
            depicted. As a Chinese
            tankard, this is an
            exceptional piece
