Whoever was the mastermind behind Luen Wo silver obviously had a sense of humour and had no compunction
in demonstrating that by creating quirky items that bring a smile.
This miniature wicker chaise long is one such item - not only is it quirky but it probably is an excellent social
record of circa 1920’s Shanghai . Miniature silver furniture items were popular regular stock items with several
of the Hong Kong and Shanghai retail silversmiths of the early 20th century.
