SING FAT
Canton & ShangHai
circa 1880-1940
Sing Fat was a high
quality retail
silversmith, very
much in the same
vane as Wang Hing,
Tuck Chang et al. As
with most retail
silversmiths of that
ilk, a strict control
was imposed upon
the workshops that
supplied them and
upon maintaining a
s t y l e t h a t w a s
allowed to evolve
organically.The
lotus form rose
bowl with swirling
dragon emblazoned
upon it is common
to almost every
retail silversmith of
the era. The Sing
Fat version is a high
quality item that
cannot be faulted.
