Miniature silver furniture became extremely popular
towards the end of the 19th century. It was collected
either as actual “furnishings” for doll’s houses or
                                                             simply as curiosities [curios].

Several of the larger Chinese retail silversmiths
specialised in this niche silver category, wing Fat being
                                                             one of them.

This particular Chinese chair carries the mark of Sing
Fat and that of the Shanghai artisan silversmith Fu
            Sheng.
The circa 1900 Sing Fat child’s feeding set [below],
although technically probably not a true set, is
nevertheless quite rare in the Chinese Export Silver
repertoire where feeding sets make rare appearances.
