W.K. [SILVERSMITH’S FULL NAME UNDOCUMENTED]
            Hong Kong
            circa 1880-1940

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO SUGGEST THE MARK “WK” HAS ANY CONNECTION WHATSOEVER WITH WAI
KEE, THE HONG KONG RETAIL SILVERSMITH AND JEWELLER. Wai Kee have always been highly conscious of
always using their distinctive logotype and would have had no valid reason not to use it. Wai Kee also not in the
habit of revealing any artisan silversmith’s name on their silver.

Given the silver mark has the Latin initials
“WK” and a Chinese character mark, it is
an indication this was the mark of a retail
silversmith that used outside artisans to
            create their items.
