SQUARE-FORM WINE CUP
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The cup is of square cross-section
and decorated on two panels with
erotic subjects. The other two panels
are decorated with shaped cartouches
enclosing a floral motif. There is an
apocryphal Chenghua six-character mark
to the underside base.

A WUCAI VASE
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The vase with a slightly splayed foot is
colourfully painted to both sides of the
baluster body in tones of red, green,
aubergine, yellow and underglaze blue
depicting delightful floral scenes. One side
is decorated with a shaped panel enclosing
an outcrop of floral sprays and rocks,
the other with two birds flying amidst
elaborately decorated flowers including
peonies and and lily.
