A PALE CELADON JADE ZODIAC FIGURE OF
A RAM
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The figure is carved seated with crossed legs, dressed in scholars
robes and holding a scroll in one hand, the other hand resting on
one knee. The ram’s head is rendered with a finely incised beard
and curved horns. The stone is of a pale tone with some minor
russet inclusions.

A PALE CELADON JADE CARVING OF
SHOULAO ON A DEER
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The stone is carved in the round depicting Shoulao holding a ruyi
in one hand with a bat hovering above, astride a deer standing
foursquare with its head turned back, grasping a lingzhi sprig in its
mouth. The material is of a pale greenish-white tone with milky
mottling and a soft polish.
