A PALE CELADON JADE
CIRCULAR PENDANT

QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

One side of the pendant is carved in
shallow relief with a phoenix turning
its head to watch the sun. The reverse is
carved with a four-character inscription,
ruyi jixiang, ‘may your wishes come true.’
The semi-translucent stone is of a pale
celadon tone.

carrying a bow, the other side with an
inscription, followed by the signature
