                TWO BRONZE FIGURES OF BUDDHA
                Tang/Liao Dynasty
                Comprising a figure of Sakyamuni, seated on a cloth-draped base
                with left hand raised, the right hand resting on the knee, wearing
                loosely draped robes, the chest exposed, the broad face flanked
                by large ears, the hair incised with waves surrounding an ushnisha,
                gilt residue, wood stand, 10.2cm (4in) high; together with a figure of
                Amitabha, finely cast, seated in dhyanasana on a lotus throne raised
                on a tapering, circular platform, wearing a monk’s robe worn over
                both shoulders, the hair arranged in small curls continuing over the
                ushnisha, above pendulous ears, the face cast with half-closed eyes,
                14.3cm (5 3/4in) high (3).

                A PARCEL-GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF CAO GUOJIU
      92        First half 17th century
  86 | BONHAMS  Cast standing on rockwork with his head turned slightly to the right,
                wearing a long robe with draping sleeves incised with floral borders
                flowing over the knees, his hands slightly raised and holding castanets,
                the bearded face with strong features flanked by pendulous earlobes,
                wearing an ornamented cap.

                A GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF YUANSHI TIANZUN
                Late Ming Dynasty, cyclically dated to Jimao year, corresponding to AD
                1579 or 1639
                Heavily cast seated on a hardwood stand in the form of a horseshoe-
                back chair, the Daoist deity wearing long flowing robes tied with
                ribbons below the chest, his hands closely imitating a Buddhist mudra,
                the face in a meditative expression with pendulous ears and a long
                pointed beard, the hair arranged into a topknot secured within a foliate
                crown, wood stand.
                The figure 49cm (19 1/4in) high (2).
