          A GOLD-SPLASHED BRONZE
          GU-SHAPED VASE
          17TH-18TH CENTURY
          The heavily cast, gu-shaped vase is encircled by
          two bow-string bands and is liberally splashed in
          gold on the exterior and on the interior below the
          rim of the trumpet-shaped neck, all on a patina
          of golden-olive tone. The similarly-decorated base
          is cast with an apocryphal Xuande mark within
          a rectangle.
