          AN ARCHAISTIC GOLD AND SILVER-
          INLAID BRONZE JAR AND COVER,
          FANGLEI
          18TH-19TH CENTURY
          The sides are cast in relief and inlaid in gold
          and silver with two bands of taotie masks above
          pendent blades interrupted by stylized dragon
          handles on the narrow sides, with a further
          small handle on the lower body on one side,
          and with pairs of confronted birds on the neck
          and spreading foot. All the bands of decoration
          are divided by fanges, as are those on the facets
          of the canted cover below the faceted fnial.
