XUANDE SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A
DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1426-1435)
明宣德 青花纏枝蓮紋碗 雙圈六字楷書款
The bowl is delicately painted with the ‘heaping and piling’ efect, depicting
stylised lotus blooms with leafy scrolls to the exterior. The interior is decorated
with a peony spray to the central roundel, surrounded by six further foral
clusters.
