BARREL SEATS
19th century
Each stool formed as a drum with nail head bosses and pierced
coin-form apertures to the sides and top, the mid-section enamelled
with a continuous lotus pond scene, all between foliate border bands 571
at the foot and shoulder. Each: 49cm (19 1/4in) high (2).

Late 19th/Early 20th century
The rounded sides with openwork areas in the form of large double
coins, interspersed with medallions enclosing writhing dragons and
phoenix, smaller shaped panels enclosing various flowers, on a
dense ground of stylised gourds on leafy tendrils. 48cm (19in) high.
