           A GREEN JADE AND HARDSTONE-
           INSET GILT-SILVER ALLOY EWER
           The ewer late 19th century, the jade
           18th/19th century
           The tall ewer raised on a tall foot, with pear-
           shaped body chased with foliate motifs and
           set with coral, turquoise and lapis beads
           surrounding an oval jade plaque to each
           face, the domed lid joined with a chain to the
           handle and with an elephant and boy jade
           carving, flanked with a loop handle set with
           a jade belt hook and worked with dragons
           and clouds, and a makara headed s-shaped
           spout joined to the neck. 28cm (11in) high

                                                                              The metalwork late 19th century, the jade
                                                                              18th/19th century
                                                                              The flattened circular vessel worked in
                                                                              repoussé to each side with dragons and
                                                                              scrolling foliate motifs set with coral and
                                                                              turquoise, surrounding a central jade
                                                                              ‘chilong’ bi disc, flanked with beast mask
                                                                              handles suspending green jade loose rings,
                                                                              with three spouts all topped with green
                                                                              jade cups; the double-gourd hollowed and
                                                                              mounted with a reticulated ‘gourd-vine’
                                                                              cover, set with coral, lapis and turquoise
                                                                              and raised on tripod feet. The flask: 25cm (9
                                                                              3/4in) high (3).
