Formed as an archaic baluster vase with taotie mask motifs carved The cylindrical body carved in low relief with stylised phoenix motifs,
in low relief to each face, flanked with a phoenix head spout and the spout forming the head of the bird, flanked with a loop handle
stylised bird handle, the flat cover with dragon turtle beast finial, carved in openwork with a chilong dragon, all raised on a tall foot,
longgui, carved wood stand. 16cm (6 1/4in) wide (2). the later green jade lid mounted with silver fittings and topped with a
glass finial. 16cm (6 1/4in) high (2).
