The globular body finely enamelled with Brightly enamelled to each side with three VASES
four Immortals variously riding on a horse, pink enamelled chilong writhing amongst 19th century
dragon, Buddhist lion and mythical beast lingzhi sprays picked out in enamel and Each elegantly potted tapering body expertly
amongst auspicious clouds, the vase rising underglaze-blue, the shoulder flanked with incised with a continuous pastoral landscape
to a narrow neck and garlic head mouth. stylised horse-head loop handles, the base with mountains rising over lakes and scholars
28cm (11in) high with an effaced mark reading Daoguang conversing in pavilions in the foreground.
gengxu nianzhi, corresponding to 1850. Each: 30.5cm (12in) high (2).

Kangxi six-character marks, Qing Dynasty
The central registers with shaped panels
of blue and white decoration of various
auspicious flowers bordered with key-fret
bands and foliate scrolls, beneath panels
with confronted dragons chasing the flaming
pearl and foliate scrolls, the flaring necks
flanked by pairs of archaistic handles also
with blue and white decoration of vases, with
the characters jixiang meaning ‘propitious’.
