           An oban yoko-e print, titled along the left margin Kohan no ame,
           Matsue (Lakeside Shower, Matsue) depicting a solitary oarsman
           beneath an overcast sky with thick and heavy, dark-grey storm clouds,
           rowing toward the shore, lined with bending orange-brown reeds,
           dated Showa shichinen nigatsu saku (Work of February, Showa 7
           [1932]), published by Watanabe Shozaburo, with a Hanken shoyu
           fukyo mosha Watanabe Shozaburo seal along the lower right margin;
           signed Hasui with Kawase seal.

           over a row of shops in the torrential rain, a lone man beneath an
           umbrella walking along the rain-soaked streets between buildings in
           the distance, dated Showa nijuninen (Showa 22 [1947]), published by
           Watanabe Shozaburo, with a round Watanabe seal at the bottom left
           corner; signed Hasui with Kawase seal.
