                                                             their highly colourful kimono and elaborate obi (sash) trailing behind
                                                             them, illuminated by the light streaming from an open door, shadows of
                                                             figures discernible in the distance, in the foreground a couple walking
                                                             closely together in the chilly night, dated Showa hachinen shigatsu saku
                                                             (Work of April, Showa 8 [1933]), published by Watanabe Shozaburo,
                                                             with a Watanabe mokuhan bijutsu gaho kosaku seal along the bottom
                                                             right margin above the printer’s seal Surishi Ono Gintaro; signed Hasui
