A WHITE AND PALE RUSSET JADE
‘BITTER MELON’ PENDANT
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The pendant is carved as two bitter melons
borne on a leafy, gnarled vine with trailing
tendrils, and with a butterfy on one side.
The semi-translucent stone has an area of
very pale russet color at the bottom on
one side.

The two pomegranates of different
size shown side-by-side are borne on a
gnarled, leafy branch. The stone is of
even white color.
