The well-built bottle of flattened
spherical form, with a waisted neck,
slightly convex lip, oval foot ring, the
interior glazed, skillfully painted on
either side with a katydid in varied
shades of green, purple, and black,
their eyes highlighted in gilt paint, the
recessed base with the four-character
mark in iron-red.

of the period, 1821-1850
Of compressed globular form with
a cylindrical neck, gilt-painted lip,
oval foot ring, the front and back
painted in enamels of various shades
presenting the Eighteen Luohan with
their attributes beneath a descending
dragon, the narrow sides molded
with two mock animal mask-and-
ring handles, the base with the four-
character mark in seal script.
